Though this last month I've been working on a interior Japanese scene inspired by the Himeji Castle in Japan. Each week I worked on different aspects of the level using Maya 2018, Substance Designer and Unreal engine 4. Week one was all about block-out mesh's and getting a feel of scenes theme and how I wanted things to look. Week two was all about Substance Designer and creating basic materials for out mesh's with a light mesh clean up and more detailing. Week 3 dealt with lighting within UE4 and provided to be a bit of a challenge. Week 4 was final pass through materials, mesh's and I learned some new skills with partial effects, vertex painting and decals.
I've found that i really love working in UE4, it's so similar to USK3 but has a lot of new features that are a lot more useful for newer designers.
